CRB provided engineering services and construction support services, and was responsible for the design of the process, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, instrumentation and fire protection systems.
The scope of the process design effort included specification of all major process equipment systems, bidding, selection and procurement assistance. The project included two large scale fluid bed dryers and high shear granulators, wet and dry mills, blenders, vacuum transfer systems, column lifts, oscillating screens, tablet presses, film coaters and an integrated packaging line. During the design development phase, CRB developed detailed equipment arrangements of the fluid bed dryer and film coating systems to facilitate the facility design effort and installation.
CRB's responsibilities for the packaging line included the line design, support system specifications, FAT of all major equipment systems and integration of the individual pieces into one functional line. 3-D modeling was used to program the granulation suites and complete the design of the packaging line. Specifications and shop drawings for the integration were developed from the 3-D model.
