CRB is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Pianalto to director of environmental, health and safety (EHS), a reflection of CRB’s ongoing commitment to advance its industry-leading safety culture.

A 30-year industry veteran, Pianalto brings broad experience in implementing EHS programs for design and construction organizations in biotech, pharmaceutical and advanced technology industries. Most recently, Pianalto served as managing consultant for JMJ Associates, providing safety leadership development, organizational transformation and team coaching for leading companies across the globe.

“Ensuring that our employees set the standard for world-class safety in the construction industry is a strategic goal for CRB,” Lance Nordbak, chief operating officer of CRB’s Construction Services Group, said. “Steve’s vision and leadership will take safety beyond just statistical excellence by focusing on the critical cultural components needed to ensure that CRB is a safety leader and, most importantly, that all our employees, subcontractors and project partners return home safe every day.”

In this role, Pianalto oversees all aspects of CRB’s EHS program. His responsibilities include EHS training and compliance reporting, injury and accident management and leading CRB’s EHS team.

“I am so excited to join the CRB team and be part of an organization that is truly committed to becoming a safety leader and doing something very special in our industry,” Pianalto said. “I look forward to working with everyone at CRB and our clients to continue to develop our culture so that all our employees go home to their families every day.”

Pianalto started his career in safety management over 30 years ago with Jacobs Engineering in multiple locations globally. He also held several management positions with Intel Corp. including leading their Global Facilities, Construction and Technology EHS team.
