Dan Dozer Presents at Tradeline College Research Facilities Conference
Posted: Jan 26 2017
Dan Dozer, RA, Senior Laboratory Design Specialist will present at the 2017 Tradeline College Research Facilities Conference April 27-28 at the Hilton San Diego Mission Bay Resort in San Diego, CA.

Dozer is teaming with Blythe R. Wilson, Senior Project Manager, from the University of California-Riverside to present "Repurposing shelled space for new directions in research and the research workplace."

Presentation Overview: Shelled lab space can be an effective hedge against construction cost escalation, reduce expansion requirements, and add program flexibility, but be advised: Research practices are evolving so quickly that your shelled labs may have become obsolete! Session leaders illustrate the extent to which shelled lab space can be reprogrammed to support today’s demanding research programs. They chart a path for adding BSL-2 capability, relocating write up and computational areas to create interaction zones, and opening the lab floor physically and visually for collaborations. They illustrate lessons learned and planning implications for future shelled lab space.
