Renee Benson is a seasoned packaging engineer with more than 23 years of packaging design and development experience in the food and beverage, manufactured products, chemical, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries. She is responsible for many phases of project execution from concept development to installation and start-up, including project management of packaging centered projects and multi-discipline engineering capital projects.
Renee has managed projects for several industry-leading companies including Mars Chocolate North America, Wrigley, PepsiCo, Chiquita, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, DuPont, Anheuser-Busch, Republic of Tea, and Ralston Purina.
Renee’s areas of professional expertise in packaging include: package development and design; packaging equipment selection, line layout, troubleshooting and line optimization; packaging material testing, packaging line validation.
As a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certified professional, Renee is able to identify specific hazards and measures for control to ensure the safety of food. She is familiar with GMP compliance and FDA regulations; IQ, OQ, and PQ development and validation; ANDA, ELA, PLA, and OTC drug submission requirements as well as facility modifications in clean rooms.
Renee obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management – Packaging from University of Missouri – Rolla, Missouri (now known as Missouri University of Science & Technology). She is an active member in the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE).
