Steve Pflantz, PE is an I&C engineer with over 29 years of experience in electrical, instrumentation and control system design for pharmaceutical, biotech, petrochemical, industrial and commercial facilities. He is well known for his expertise in developing control system design and strategies for a wide range of facility sizes and complexities. Knowledge and experience on a variety of hardware platforms allows Steve to provide designs utilizing systems that are the best fit for the client. Establishing good working relationships with vendors helps him facilitate collaboration between vendors and clients for successful projects.
Having worked in specialty chemical productions facilities, Steve has developed a high level of expertise in electrical hazardous areas. He is proficient in evaluating and defining hazardous areas for facilities and then designing the wiring systems for the controls and electrical systems. His experience and in-depth knowledge of codes and standards makes him a key resource for design consultation and training within CRB.
Steve is the current Chair of the Automation Federation and past president of the International Society of Automation (ISA), a nonprofit professional association for those who apply engineering and technology to improve the management, safety and cybersecurity of modern automation and control systems used across industry and critical infrastructure. Founded in 1945, the ISA develops widely used global standards, certifies industry professionals, provides education and training, publishes books and technical articles, hosts conferences and exhibits and provides networking and career development programs for its 40,000 members and 400,000 customers around the world.
